Flourishing in SW FL

As it being the first blog for this website, I wanted to write something uplifting and positive! Florida has seen it's fair share of crisis with the crash of the housing market, foreclosures, abandoned homes, and bankruptcies. It saw developments half built, roads leading no where, and companies out of business. With the turn of events with the economy, the passage of time and a lot of patience we now see a flourishing housing market in Florida, SW Florida specifically. New homes and developments are finally filling in the gaps in between roads. Empty lots are getting structures both residential and commercial with businesses moving in to previously unoccupied areas. Prices are creeping up but still maintaining affordability which makes our market a buyer's market AND and seller's market simultaneously! Foreign investors are still flooding the market buying up rental properties and vacation homes for themselves which keep the prices on the up tic. But we are also seeing a mass exodus from the north, people escaping the cold and settling in Florida permanently, before the prices get unaffordable again. High rises are going up in Ft Myers and Bonita Springs as resort living seems to be the target of the buyers, but renters are still feeling the pinch of very limited rental inventory. Folks with limited income find themselves moving further inland as water frontage prices skyrocket. Lehigh Acres which used to have a terrible reputation is now seen as an affordable and accessible area for young families and working class adults. Foreclosures and bank owned homes are now rare to the dismay of flipping investors who made a bundle not that long ago. All in all, SW Florida's come back looks steady and getting better everyday!
